Paint colors for a Very Large family room?

I’d like some ideas for my family room. It is a very large and wide room with a brick fireplace hearth at one end. I just recently faux painted all of the brick on the fireplace with wines, reds and browns and then lightly sponged a light beige over the brick for a antique look. The walls are currently a creamy light tan but the rooms needs some color. I’m scared to paint something bright or bold. We have a medium brown ultra suede couch and love seat and our furniture is medium oak. Thanks for any ideas.

Go to a local paint store and pick up some swatches of paints, bring them home and look at them in your lighting.

You could always paint the walls in a shade or two off from what you have now (fresh paint just revitalizes any room, even if it’s close to the current color), then you could accessorize with bold colors such as reds or golds in the curtains, flooring, throw pillows, Wall Decor.
