Intriguing, bloody BioShock 2 is not for the squeamish players and we know that but BioShock 2 refers to the world of terror that video games are as bad as Saw and other slasher films.

Can someone explain the difference between Art Nouveau and Art Deco?
I know the time periods when each was popular so I don’t need that information. The two styles seem so similar–I just need to know the basic differences; or what defines each. I’m thinking of changing my decor to one or the other, or a combination of both.
Thanks.
Maybe you should look at it as the amount of softness in a piece. I believe the Art Nouveau and Deco periods overlapped somewhat. I like both late nouveau (long silhouettes, vines, nudes, etc.) and early deco, which incorporates some of the same characteristics with sharp geometrics. Later deco is sharper, without the softness, then it becomes “space age”. Instead of decorating in one or the other, combine pieces you like, softer Nouveau pieces that will offset the geometrics of Deco. Even some modern things. Don’t really worry about the period they’re from, as long as you like them and they go well together, creating a good flow, and a good feeling.
