How can I remove the Gold Leaf to a sheet of glass?

I have two dessert plates with 22-K for the borders of gold leaf. I want to trash the dishes, but I wonder if I can extract the gold.

I think that even with gold prices would not be worth it. The gold which I had to read is incredibly thin. He leaves, so I'm familiar with it. A package of 25 sheets of 3 3 / 8 "x 3 3 / 8" 22 carat gold leaf is about $ 40 I think, and the amount we are talking about is less of a leaf. (See below looked up to confirm.)
