What are tradiaional breakfast dishes in Germany?
I have to make a german breakfast dish to bring into my science class next week.
What are some unique, traditional dishes that i could make?
I have to buy the ingredients so nothing TOO extravagant but something will taste yummy!!!
Germans normally have a “cold” meal breakfast – nothing warm except their coffee/tea/hot chocolate or cold juice.
My german friends love baked goods like bread-rolls (there are many kinds of bread in germany though) or just slices of bread with:
- slices of cold meat / wurst or cheese (emmentaler, frischkäse …)
- Nutella – seems to be a household necessity in most german homes
- sometimes a half boiled egg
- Kellogg’s cornflakes with milk
- Yogurt
Sounds pretty much American sometimes but really, that’s just what they have.
Maybe you can get german rye breads/knackerbrot with some cold meat slices (like ham etc) for your science class week
