Best flowering tree and shrubs in a Small Pot?

I have a small pot that runs through my backyard. It is only about a foot a foot and a half wide. I'm trying to figure out what is best to plant there. I'd like to get some kind of shrub or small tree to flower line of the pot. It doesn't get a lot of sun, especially late afternoon and early evening sun. I just want to put some color in there, but needs something with a little height to which …

There are several dwarf forms that do well in containers. Phormiums New Zealand as' Platt's Black, with leaves narrow and almost black pointy leaves can add height with a strong punctuation. If you like fushia Hardy, who can provide Vivid Colors in a graceful flowing. Rhododendrons dwarf alpine species often are elements of solid color round the year which are offered in the spring. Include a layer of small bulbs to start growing seson then filled with annuals, as needed. A small grid could support one of the smallest coding clematis vines.
