Attractive Rosenthal’s Product in Etabletop

Phillip Rosenthal (1855-1937) began business in 1884 by purchasing white ware from Hutschenreuther and selling designs, handpainted by his wife Maria, door to door. In 1891, he established a factory in Asch, Bohemia and began production of white ware for use in his workshop. From 1897 to 1936, Rosenthal acquired factories in Kronach, Marktredwitz, Selb, Waldenburg, Sophienthal, and Waldershof. The popularity of the Maria White and Moss Rose patterns helped the business grow rapidly.

By the time of WWII, Rosenthal operated 10 companies and employed over 5,000 people. When the war ended, Rosenthal’s son, Phillip, returned to Germany where he modernized out of date factories and reestablished lost markets. Phillip quickly rebuilt the business by reaching new markets interested in the modern shapes and artistry of his dinnerware. To this day, Rosenthal continues to work with leaders in fashion and design to create unique tabletop designs.

As remarkably beautiful and unique as this pattern is, I am unable to put a name to it. Over the past 3 weeks I have visited ever replacement site, Rosenthal outlet and dealer I could find. I have looked at hundreds of patterns and have not found this one. Many of the replacement sites have names but no pictures.

The back of these plates are simply marked Rosenthal, Ivory, Bavaria. These plates have been stored, wrapped up, for many years, so they are in like new condition. They are heavily decorated with gold, including a circle “c” outside and inside border, a wide floral medallion band, a band of ebony blue, with an interior gold scroll border. The center of the plates feature a gorgeous floral motif that includes a rose, Lillies and daisies in various pastel shades. Rosenthal’s products are available here. Does anyone know what a porcelain birdcage could be worth or if it is an antique, or not?

I found a bird cage porcelain in a friend's house abandoned by their parents.'re white and Blue Flower designs that are hand painted tht. Definitely looks old. I can not find another like him anywhere online through search engines. These people were pack-rats beyond belief and have many other antiques. It is beautiful and I think it might be worth something.

It's definitely something worthwhile. Porcelain is mainly from Asia, so it's a good chance of being imported. The fact that is a bird cage is quite surprising. If it is not cut at all, it sounds like it's a Very Rare piece and highly collectible. It is near certainty that he would have to be carved by hand. You should get evaluated by a real appraiser. I'd love to see a picture of her.
