Why Dutch people decorate in pairs?

I recently visited Valkenburg in the Netherlands for the first time and loved it. The city is very welcoming and realized that people love to decorate with flowers, but something caught my attention. Almost every house had flowers, pots, candles, etc in the windows, but almost all of them were in pairs, for example. two vases of flowers, two candles, two lamps, etc. I wonder if anyone knows why. Also, why all meaning open windows the curtains were always open, and nobody had the blinds, and the U.S.. Does anyone know the reason behind this?

The pairs is fashion, which began a few years ago and still continues to surprise me as hard as he does, but it will also. The thing with the curtains open is really a Dutch thing, is that throughout the country. Many people make the curtains at night, or the use of shutters or other protection from the sun necessary. The old people used to say that something strange would happen in a house if they had the curtains closed all the time, but it happened.
