Easy Ways to Make the Most of Your Small Kitchen Plans

The goal with a tiny kitchen remodel is to make as much space as possible for the storage of items that are the most significant to you and the way you cook.  Today is the time to not just reconstruct but individualize your new kitchen by having it work the way you live.

After you have given some consideration to maximizing area you have, try to add space to your kitchen plans.  Perhaps your kitchen has a connecting breakfast nook or informal dining space.  These are ideal areas to add space to your new design.  Try to enlarge your existing kitchen space.  Enlarging your lay-out and making an eat in type of kitchen with seating at an island or peninsula type of cabinet plan rather than a table and chairs in a near by room works well.  If space is still tight look into utilizing an island mounted on casters that can easily be wheeled out of the way when not in use.  Does your floor plan allow you to cut into an existing wall and put in a built in pantry?

You should also consider the idea of removing any kitchen soffits and running the new cabinetry all the way up to the ceiling.  While things on the upper shelves may be tougher to reach on a daily basis this is the perfect storage spot for seasonal dishes or items you don’t use regularly like a juicer, wok or crock pot.

Make the most of counter area and choose appliances made especially for kitchens in close quarters. A microwave range fan combination unit is a perfect start for contributing more valuable counter space.  Pay special attention to the various choices available for under cabinet appliance units. Perhaps a television, electric can opener or even a computer can gain you extra counter top area.  Look in to a reduced depth refrigerator. Units of this type will offer more usable room in the kitchen while not exceeding the usual depth of typical kitchen tops. Don’t forget to utilize the space over the refrigerator as well by installing an extra deep cabinet in that area.

Light and color can play an important role in producing the perception of extra room.  A bump-out kitchen window or even a sky light will provide the more open feel you should try to produce in your new kitchen plans.  Dark colors tend to close in a space.  Pick Out natural wood tones or light stain hues for the cabinets.  Lighter and neutral colors are perfect for decreased rooms but feel free to jazz it up a bit.  Take the opportunity to toy with some bright colors. Consider mixing in some brighter colors to a tile backsplash pattern.  Bright greens, electric blues and bright orange are options here. Try out brighter paint in your new space giving it the perfect look and feel.

Employ these tips to your tiny kitchen design.  You might just find you have more space than you thought and you will definitely revel in using your larger more efficient kitchen.

"Where I can put fertilizer if I have a garden?

I want my kitchen compost / biodegradable waste and I'm going to put a little compost pot to keep the kitchen. However, since I live in an apartment, I have a garden to put the ticket once it is degraded. Any suggestions for what I can do with it?

Have you heard of worm composting? It's a dream organic gardeners. I just purchased 1500 and am now red worms compost all my vegetable and fruit Cooking with remains of newspapers. I do not smell at all. The worms eat twice their weight scraps a day. And the fertilizer produced more favorable (worm racks) that could be sold in agricultural markets in the weekends and that does not have a garden. Or, put an ad on Craig's List. It is a good way to recycle, reduce carbon emissions and make some extra money. Worms also reproduce and can be sold to organic gardeners to start their own worm farm. .
