how to care for a purple pitcher and tropical pitcher plants?
i bought a purple pitcher(Sarracenia Purpurea) and a tropical pitcher(Nepenthes) plants and i bought them because they were on clearance. The purple one only has pitcher and from what i’ve researched and it said that by winter its supposed to be dormant so i wanted to know should i get it in dormant state, and if so how can i do it, and if its to late how do i feed it? And the only pitcher looks like its dry how do help it?
Now on the tropical i really couldnt find much info and the problem im having is that the plant doesnt have any pitchers and it looks like there just starting to form but a couple of them are turning brown and dying so how do i care for it during this cold winter months?
just leave it in the east or west window keep in watered but not soggy as far as the pitchers go it only makes them when it gets hungry enough it can survive forever with no pitchers.
now your purple one is more a cold climate kind how long the light last tells it when to go to sleep for the winter you can 1 put it in the crisper drawer of your fridge for thw winter. 2 leave it outside more like plant it. 3 leave it indoors should be alright in the basement.
