Pottery Cow
I want to become a master of arts high school, but I'm very bad at using the Pottery Wheel. Help me!
I do not think I can be a teacher art now. I loooove ceramics. I love making masks and pigs and cows and everything else. My favorite part is all Very Detailed painting. But I'm very bad at potter's wheel. I can not freakin bowl of my life. I have to make two bowls at the end of this semester to pass the class and I can not. I am so discouraged at this time. I love using ceramic clay, but the pottery wheel is ruining my life. What are some good tips? And I hate nail polish! Has the pieces so boring, because you can not even mix colors or anything without the piece that looks like shit !!!!! I sooooo prefer ceramic paint things with acrylic paint.
many schools do not have the facilities for ceramics, so why bother? My school had one pottery wheel and while our teacher can show us the foundation that was certainly not big on it. We also are not in class, but in an after school volunteer activity, so was not part of the teaching program. As for his current class, get either a teacher or fellow student patient to find what you're doing wrong. There are plenty of things you could be doing wrong and easiest way to find out what's wrong is watching. Try to get a more positive attitude towards the use of a potter's wheel, if you use it while feeling impatient and frustrated does not really help. It is something to be patient and calm. Also make sure that the bowls are Wheel Thrown or if you can make Hand Built bowls. If you can make hand-built pots, then you have the alternative. As for going there are beautiful enamels and glazes there are plenty of things you can do with underglaze and glaze pens. Using only the acrylics do not achieve the same effects that can be used with glazes and to limit seriously if you insist on using a single technique. I suggest you look at the work of Sergei Isupov, which makes amazing paintings on clay. I also suggest looking at through some books on ceramics and see what you can do with enamels. You give me the impression that you do not like the glazes, because you do not know much about them and want treat them exactly as you would with paint. That is obviously not going to work, although you can do a lot if you learn about glazes and treat them as such. Acrylics in addition to not seal the surface in the same way and have all non-functional pottery. I doubt if a single class will not go to your course studies. It's probably a choice, so just take one next semester.
