Was the last warm period very long ago?
I own seven pieces of pottery and one lion carving that were in existence during the Medieval Warm Period. It just doesn’t seem that that was a long time ago.
saturne that’s complete BS – Lake Naivasha in Kenya DRIED UP FOR 200 YEARS. The drought in what is now the American Southwest was much worse than it has been off and on in the 20th and 21st centuries. Tree lines were much higher in mountain ranges from the Sierra Nevadas to the Alps.

China has recently provided data from their historical records that show the Oort, Roman, Scandik and medieval warm periods occurred there to the same extent as they did in Europe and the Americas so at least two believers are hiding from reality. Point is all of these previous warnings were much hotter at their peaks than our current one and all of them came in less then 50 years from coldest to first hot peak. Ours was from 1850 to 1920 about 70 years so the rise was slower than normal and then it dipped back to the cold side for about 25 years and then warmed again to just below the 1934 peak for less than 20 years and now it seems to be cooling again now matter how much they play with the numbers it might get very cold.
There is no such thing as global warming. The major error in judgement that those who believe in the myth make is that the average temperatures of the 18th and 19th centuries were global optimums when in fact they were exceedingly below the normal mean temperature of the planet. So the real argument between the believers and the skeptics comes down to a single issue, what is the ideal global mean temperature. Believers feel that the temperature at the year 1800 which was about 1.5C colder than today is the ideal. Skeptics fell that the warmer climate of today is much more optimal being about half way between the believers little ice age minimum ideal and the 2C warmer than today’s medieval warm period which was the warmest the planet has been in the last 4,000 years.
So 700 years ago the average was about 2c hotter than currently and 200 years ago it was 1.5c colder than it currently is. Personally I feel that our current average is much more comfortable than the two recent extremes to the high and low and thus feel that the general average temperature is pretty much the comfortable mean. Michael when you speak truth you will get thumbs up and when you speak leftist lies you will get thumbs down. Skeptics care about truth and support it while believers of all kinds follow faith statements that skeptics can easily tell are lies. It is no different to spot the lie in Co2 causes global warming than to spot the one that consists of the trinity arguments!
