How to get a green card or work visa to an immigrant in the U.S.?

I have a problem: a boyfriend of 18 years in Alberta, Canada called TJ. I'm 16 and live in California. My mother is buying a bus ticket from Grande Prairie to Modesto and is what allows him to live with us if it contributes to our home. However, can not stay here forever. I hear there is a limit of 90 days … and needs to find a job! How could he get a work visa or card green? What, exactly, and that you are what you need to know first? If the permanent resident abroad has been more than one year but less than two, he or she must obtain a reentry permit from the INS. If the resident is absent from the United States for more than two years, he or she must obtain a special immigrant visa at a U.S. consulate, usually after establishing that he or she has not abandoned his or her residency status permanent. The potential use of the card to enter the United States should not be confused with the maintenance of lawful permanent resident status. To maintain legal status permanent resident alien, an alien must show intent to remain in the United States as a permanent resident. The INS generally considers the length and purpose absence for the resident if the resident continues to file U.S. tax returns, maintains a U.S. address, bank account and driver's license, the location of close family members of residents and the location and nature of employment of residents. For the holder of a residence card to be eligible for naturalization, he or she generally must reside in the United States continuously for five years after the establishment of permanent residence. The limit is reduced to three years if the resident is the spouse of a U.S. citizen. If the resident is absent from the country for more than six months but less than a year, the continuity of residence is be disrupted unless the resident can provide a reasonable explanation for the absence.
