Can I set two computers up to the internet with centurytel DSL?

If I get other modem with it work? I doubt it. I’m computer stupid here so bare with me. I have a windows 98… But I’m getting an XP soon and wanted internet on both of them. I had someone tell me to get a router but then said no because it wouldn’t work with windows 98. What can I do?

You can only have one modem. What you need is a router, to allow the sharing of the internet with 2 or more devices. No way of doing it without a router….
Routers do not care what operating system you have, either Windows, Mac OS, or Linux – they all work with routers
