Why gold enamel saturation turn gray?
When I use the gold enamel saturation in pottery class that always gets almost entirely gray with touches of gold, but all of the photo on the same line indicate that it should be truly golden. Why is this happening and how I can fix it? he was fired in an electric oven and stoneware. It is designed for stoneware that is not the problem. As for the reduction or oxidation, not sure, but I think that the saturation of Gold is a veneer of potter and the choice can be used in a furnace oxidation or reduction.
Check how fired enamel. How high were you fired? It was in the oxidation or reduction? Could the thickness of enamel is bad? some are intended to be heavy some are thinner than might be a reaction to the pasta? Here are some things that can change the appearance of a glaze. EDIT Having seen how the glaze should be fired, the next time you fire the enamel to witness cones or tiles between two pieces of evidence in the oven as a check. Make sure the enamel well blended. You may have a thin layer on a thick layer and another (I know some glazes that are different depending on the thickness. This is in the same pot so that the temperature is not a factor. But there are some differences in the reduction) If the melting cones correctly and that the enamel is not the color, ask your dealer or manufacturer. I found a glut of gold enamel on the list but had no special instructions and gold enamel. There were special instructions for glazes others in the line. http://www.amaco.com/prod-potters-choice-pc-high-fire-glazes-lead-free-511.html #
