What can you put in a vase for decoration?

I have a purple vase sort of shaped like a tall rectangle. What can I put in it besides fake or real flowers to decorate with it? It is a little to tall to go on my dining table plus the cat would knock it over and it;s just been sitting in the floor. If I keep it on the floor in a corner what can I put in it to make it look pretty?

I’d go wandering through the floral department of a crafts store. You will find many tall varieties of grasses, branches, etc. to put in it. I would also suggest maybe weighting it down with pebbles or clear marbles if you do put something in it. (I have a cat who would get into it, too). You could also put an up light in it to illuminate your corner.
