What accent colors to decorate my living room? My walls are light yellow and my furniture is Dark Brown.?
I am trying to find an accent color to decorate my living room (throw pillows, vases, etc.). My walls are light yellow, my furniture is a dark chocolate brown (large sectional and tv stand) and my window curtains are a tan to light mocha color. I am trying to keep a contemporary look.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
a basic, clear medium blue. …or wedgewood blue… or “1980-90′s country” blue… with a little white. dark orange-y red touches might be nice too. maybe a teeny bit of navy as well.
TIP: I get inspiration by looking at wall paper and textle prints at the fabric store (like multi-colored stripes and florals)… you can get an idea what colors are complementary that way (hint: looking at an image upside down allows you to focus on the design and color aspects and not be destracted by the picture). you also get an idea what color combinations are Currently in style. if you want something more antique or vintage, check-out home dec books from the library.

whoops… I didn’t pay total attention… you say contemporary? hmm… why not accent with black and cream?
