Fred Heim’s Fantastic Half-scale Replicas Now on Display at Edaville Usa

Visitors to Edaville’s Christmas Festival of Lights will have an opportunity to see Heim’s extraordinary working replicas made from carved mahogany, aluminum, plastic and fiberglass. Vehicles on display include a Cat 345CL excavator and a Peterbilt pulling a 26-ft Hill dump trailer.

Heim, whose creations have been shown at machine and trade shows, toy conventions, museums, parades as well as in magazines and featured on the Boston news show “Chronicleâ€, is a woodworker who has been making exact replicas for 58 years. Over the years he has also built many boats and has contributed to the construction of at least 450 new homes.

“Mr. Heim’s working models are simply amazing and it is a real treat to be able to share his work with our visitors,†noted Brenda Johnson, co-owner of Edaville USA.

The Christmas Festival of Lights runs from November 9-11, 16-18, 23-30, 2007 and December 1-31, 2007 (closed Christmas day) and January 1, 2008.

Hours are Monday-Friday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. with the last train at 8 p.m. The Friday night fireworks are held at approximately 8:30 (weather permitting).

Edaville USA is located just off Route 58 in South Carver, MA (less than one hour from Boston and Providence). There is ample free parking and Edaville USA is accessible to the handicapped. Admission is $16 and includes unlimited train rides, unlimited amusement rides, Ellis’ Playhouse and all attractions. Free admission for children under two years old.

Edaville USA – A New England Tradition

Owned and operated by Brenda Johnson and Robert Julian since 2003, Edaville USA has undergone many exciting changes over the years, including the reconfiguration of the entire rail course and the incorporation of vintage amusement rides such as an antique carousel and an illuminated Ferris wheel. Other attractions throughout the year include “Day Out With Thomas†a family event centered on the Thomas the Tank Engine classic storybook; daylight trips through brilliant seasonal foliage and the harvest of the cranberry crop in the Fall and late afternoon and evening rides through the Holiday Festival of Lights in the winter.

Items are sold in the U.S. still marked Made in Taiwan? This refers to a miniature dollhouse?

Label the symbol TS intertwined into one, and saying: Made in Taiwan, and I'm trying to control the harvest.

Although most things are imported manufactured in China now, maybe it's able to figure out his age is only going by what is made in Taiwan, I guess things are being imported from there. Dollhouse miniatures became big in the late 70's – early 80's, but I do not think that he did then is more valuable than the things that are now done. Most items in the house of dolls made in the 60s and early homes were made for children's dolls and some are quite high, especially by Renwal. Most things made in the 1960s and earlier is Marked Japan. I just searched for Taiwan in the house miniature dolls of the eBay category and I saw things there did Hello Dolly … I remember from the 80, you can do a search and see if you find your article.
