He wondered about copyrights and vintage cards and images?

I see a lot of people selling vintage images they obtained vintage cards (birthday, Christmas, etc. ..) and then put into a CD and sell it. First, why did they do it and then tell us that we we can not use images and make crafts and sell them. Also … How do I get these images and be able to use to make small crafts to sell? What are the steps you need to do? thanks

The copyright expires 70 years after creator's death. So patterns of vintage and art are becoming public domain. Once you take the pictures and puts them on a CD that has to respect the copyright of that CD includes not selling items made with the CD. Sometimes, if you politely write to the manufacturer's CD which can grant the permission. As for vintage images receiving just start looking old people's attics and then you have to investigate copyright. That is, frankly, a lot of work.
