White Planter
White mold on the outside of the planters, harmful to plants?

I'm growing basil, but I ran out of containers to put some of the smaller but grown basil so I used the cardboard seed starters. Because I have to water every day, or Withers and dies, there are white mold diffuse outside the containers. Is this harmful to the basil and can still be eaten? Or should I throw? I have the same problem in a Clay Pot containing little oregano. If no water, they die and give almost no water, enough to make the soil moist. I have oregano in a clay (terracotta) pot and still does. I cleaned with baking soda before, but returned after a few days. I'm pretty sure it's mold and not salt, because it is diffuse, not a change of color cardboard.

Basil is fine, unless you really begin to grow mold itself. Simply rinse with warm water / warm water before use. Peel the pots peat and replant outside if possible. You need to have better air circulation. If the pots are not really too wet to be the reason for the cast then you need to get a better air circulation in the area to be maintained. No cold air flow, but not a wet or damp. The other reason would be because the pots were contaminated with mold spores before you put the plants in them.
